This extension allows DEKRA to continue overseeing vehicle inspections in the country, crucially maintaining the continuity of car revisions without interruption.
DEKRA, committed to supporting Costa Rican authorities and guaranteeing road safety, highlighted its achievement of establishing 13 fixed inspection stations within 40 days of its initial operation. The company reported an 8% sales growth from 2022 to 2023, demonstrating financial stability and leveraging nearly 100 years of experience in vehicle technical inspections.

The current extension, valid for 9 months, extends DEKRA’s provisional permit until July 2025. Cosevi emphasizes that this measure is essential for driver safety, preventing a recurrence of the significant delays experienced when DEKRA first commenced operations in the country.
As Cosevi awaits a resolution on a constitutional action filed in 2021, DEKRA’s continued presence ensures that the Costa Rican public can rely on uninterrupted, high-quality vehicle inspection services.
